Carpet Backing Yarn
Bonar's polypropylene weft yarns, twisted or untwisted, are made to very tightly controlled shrinkage specifications enabling the carpet to be processed through the latex finishing operation without fear of contraction. The uniformity of the yarn ensures smooth running and reduces stoppages caused by yarn breaks. We can provide any size of weft cops on request.
Fine Weft Yarns - Bonar has developed 89 Tex and 105 Tex yarns to satisfy the demands of clients requiring 1-2 million knots per square meter.

Chain Warp Yarn
Twisted Chain Warp Yarns offer considerable savings over cotton spun yarns because of the increased length of yarn per kilo which results in fewer beam changes and better production efficiency. Polypropylene Chain Warp Yarns are more stable and have less elongation than polyester blend yarns which give rise to a better interlock within the carpet construction. These polypropylene yarns are also recycable and therefore in conjunction with polypropylene pile yarn, these carpets can be reprocessed more easily than those with mixed fibre yarns.

Stuffer Warp Yarn
Bonar's polypropylene stuffer yarns are specially made with minimum extension and minimum shrinkage to provide a stable back for woven carpets. High twist levels ensure better weavability.
All Bonar's warp yarns can be made twist-set for higher beaming efficiency. This extra treatment to the yarn eliminates the natural twist liveliness of polypropylene fibrillated yarn - a characteristic which causes smashing at beaming.

Flame Retardant Yarn
Bonar’s world leading polypropylene carpet backing yarns are also available in a range of flame retardantyarns. These products meet the stringent Health and Safety requirements and are manufactured under our ISO9001:2000 Quality Control System. Bonar’s flame retardant yarns are particularly well suited for specialist areasincluding aircraft and shipping line carpeting due to their inherent qualities.
Bonar can manufacture Flame Retardant yarns from 89 tex and greater in dark grey, charcoal and brown colours depending on specific orders.
Autoclave Yarn
Bonar's Autoclave Yarns are steam treated at a temperature of 150 °C. The principal benefits are near zero shrinkage on every meter of yarn, twist retention and general stabilisation of yarn configuration, especially for an open weave carpet construction.

Manufacture Bonar Yarns & Fabrics has invested over recent years in state of the art extrusion technology including automatic colour dosing and thickness control systems and in modern yarn finishing equipment. Bonar Yarns are assured of being regular and consistent so that they produce a good quality grass carpet surface. Only the highest grade polymers, pigments and stabilisers are used in our products, which are monitored and controlled throughout the whole manufacturing process under our BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality System.
