Bonar has developed Film Filament yarn - a hybrid of fibrillated and monofilament yarns, offering great player friendliness and the aesthetic qualities of monofilaments whilst retaining the infill encapsulation qualities of fibrillated yarns. Film Filament is playing an important part in the emergence of artificial grass yarns for landscaping. Whilst providing the aesthetic advantages of monofilaments in terms of looking like, or even better than, natural turf they are also able to hold the infill in place due to their light lattice structure, which is crucially important to the lawn remaining in situ. Furthermore Film Filament yarn requires no post fibrillation.
